A family in Hatfield, Harare commissioned a two-structure compound on a single stand: a main residence and a self-contained secondary unit, connected by a paved courtyard. The brief was unhurried — give the site air, give the architecture material weight, get the details right.
The plan reads as one home but reads on the ground as two: stone-clad columns frame the entrance to each structure, IBR roofing in matching profile ties the elevations together, and a full paved courtyard between them does double duty as outdoor living and arrival.
Site clearance, footings, raft slabs to both structures, services rough-in.
Brick & mortar, ring beams, internal partitions. Secondary unit completes first.
Truss, IBR roofing, fascia, gutters. Both structures sealed weather-tight.
Plaster, screed, joinery, kitchen install, electrical & plumbing second fix, paint.
Snag walks for both structures, defects close-out, O&M manual, key handover.
